Damian Byland was born in Lenzburg, Switzerland in 1991. His photographic education at the F+F School of Art and Design from 2013-2016 trained his eye for composition and sharpened his feeling for the object. During and after education he worked as an assistant for stilllife photographer Patrik Fuchs in Zürich. In works like „beyond its function“ from 2016 and „Crap Masegn“ from 2014 you can see the attraction to the object and architectural contet. Therefore Damian Byland expanded his interest in industrial design and is currently studying this discipline at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Basel. Exploring his field of interest, he is concerned with the question of good design that meets the demands of the zeitgeist.
